Had a lovely time - most days even had the pool to ourselves!! Mrs G, Sutton-in-ashfield, Nottinghamshire 31 March 2011
I would recommend this holiday for everyone. The scenery is truly breathtaking and the surroundings are enough to appeal to everyone. The cottage was clean and tidy, Whitby town is in walking distance over the bridge which is essential for getting supplies, the local pubs are very friendly, there are plenty of places to eat out, all with quality service and of course, the landmarks and tourist attractions are endless. There is something for everyone whether adventuring is your thing or whether you simply want to lay back and take in the sights from afar. Captain Cooks Haven is indeed, as the name suggests, a haven. Mr W, Walsall, West Midlands 21 December 2010
This being our first visit to Whitby & surrounding area, we didn't know what to expect. Any fears we had (enough to see/do) were soon dispelled. The site was perfectly situated for us & made a great base for the week. If we do return - it will definitely be to Captain Cook's Haven. Mrs B, Hinckley 05 July 2010
Excellent location, perfect for exploring local area. Good standard of accommodation, lovely pool and play areas. Mrs T, MACCLESFIELD 31 May 2010
This park was fantastic and was an ideal getaway from our usual hustle and bustle hectic lifestyle. To me, this was fantastic value for money. I would have no hesitation in recommending this holiday to anyone wanting to getaway from it all. Also you were only a short 20 minute walk into the town centre where you could do the majority of things that you would expect in any other town centre. Mrs M, AIRDRIE, Lanarkshire 26 April 2010
We thoroughly enjoyed the holiday - it was a well needed rest, and the team were fantastic and were more than happy to help. Mr H, MANCHESTER, Lancashire 12 March 2010
A quiet area, and small, secluded homes in a quiet cul-de-sac. Electricity was included in price so no worries about having the excellent heating on and the view was as per the brochure. It is a beautiful, scenic walk along the viaduct to Whitby, and easy to walk if able-bodied regardless of age. There are lots of buses from central station in Whitby, and the accommodation was a home I wish I had. Money well spent! Mrs W, BRISTOL, bristol 07 December 2009
Having been to Captain Cook's several times, I would recommend it for all ages. Good walking ,not far from Whitby, a good swimming pool for all ages, brilliant views and the passing steam trains by the river are absolutely marvellous. Mr B, Derby, Derbyshire 12 November 2009
Lovely, comfortable and clean cottage, great pool, again clean and very warm. We really liked this park, well maintained and looked after. Mr S, CHELMSFORD 24 August 2009
A lovely location and good quality accommodation. Very peaceful and central for touring the Yorkshire coast. Mrs M, Erskine, Renfrewshire 06 August 2009
What a beautiful place to stay! Our highlight has to be the steam trains that past by our balcony every day, add to that the magnificent views and idyllic location only a stones throw from what has to be the most beautiful seaside town in the UK, Whitby! Quaint, historic and mystical, we will be back again very soon! Mrs B, ASHTON-UNDER-LYNE 07 June 2009
Captain Cooks Haven is a lovely site, with great views of the river Esk. The accommodation is good, and we certainly hope to return one day. Mrs P, Rugeley 13 September 2008

A quiet location and the cottage was very well equipped and clean. Mr S, Farnham, Surrey 28 March 2008
An excellent cottage, lovely views and pool, and a nice easy walk into the centre of Whitby across the viaduct. Mrs M, Leeds, West Yorkshire 26 June 2007
I would recommend Captain Cooks Haven ad the cottages are very comfortable and well equipped, and being able to walk into Whitby in around 25 minutes is a great advantage. Mr W, Solihull, West Midlands 09 June 2007
We all loved the location of our home for the week, my two sons particulary liked being able to sit on the balcony of our upside down cottage and watch as steam trains went past on the railway track below, overall the ideal place for a quiet family holiday. We can't wait to come back again soon. Mrs O 14 April 2007
Beautiful views and close to Whitby! Mr L 04 November 2006
